Full Job Description Summary:
The Irrigation Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing various irrigation systems.
Job Responsibilities:
Repair irrigation leaks including drip tube, valves, lateral lines, mainline, and drains. Repair/Replace irrigation valves. Install and adjust irrigation timers. Conducts regular system inspections and perform routine troubleshooting or irrigation systems. Use hand tools such as shovel, pickaxe, rakes, pipe cutters. Remove and replace plant material including ground cover, plants, shrubs and trees as needed to repair irrigation problems. Communicate effectively with American Landscape Superintendent and customers as needed. Ensure work vehicle has proper tools and materials necessary to execute all work projects.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of irrigation systems including valves, sprinkler heads, drip systems, backflows, and master valves. Knowledge of various irrigation timers. Efficient at reading and understanding blueprints and color coded irrigation charts. Ability to repair valves, lateral lines, drip tube, and main line. Ability to remove and plant multiple varieties of ground cover, shrubs, plants, and trees. Ability to effectively communicate present information and respond to questions, both verbal and written. Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision. Ability to work independently. Ability to exercise good judgment with a strong attention to detail Must be a licensed driver in the state of California Bilingual speech is highly encouraged.
Physical Demands:
Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to frequently move supplies of up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift weight consisting of 75 pounds.
Work Environment:
Working outdoors in various weather conditions. Interaction with staff and customers.
