Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Greenhouse Grower Assistant to join our dynamic horticultural team. In this role, you will support the cultivation and management of plants within greenhouse environments, ensuring optimal growth conditions and crop quality. Your enthusiasm for horticulture, combined with hands-on experience in greenhouse operations, will contribute to the success of our plant production goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors and indoors, applying your gardening skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting dedicated to sustainable crop cultivation. Duties Assist with greenhouse planting, transplanting, pruning, and trimming to promote healthy crop development Manage irrigation systems and ensure proper watering schedules according to crop needs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Monitor environmental controls such as temperature, humidity, and lighting using agricultural environmental control systems to optimize plant growth Implement integrated pest management strategies to prevent and control plant pests and diseases effectively Conduct regular crop inspections for plant pest identification, health issues, and growth progress Maintain accurate records of crop production activities, pest management interventions, and irrigation schedules Qualifications Proven growing experience in greenhouse cultivation or related horticultural environments Knowledge of irrigation management and agricultural environmental control systems Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plant care and pest control Ability to identify common plants and pests through visual inspection and basic plant identification skills Experience managing horticultural teams or working collaboratively in a team setting Comfortable performing outdoor work including lawn care, landscaping, garden trimming, and handling hand tools Strong basic math skills for measuring inputs and recording data accurately Physical ability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing manual gardening tasks Prior experience with crop pest management, plant pest control techniques, and greenhouse environment regulation is highly desirable Join us in cultivating vibrant plants while advancing your career in a lively environment dedicated to sustainable horticulture!
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
