Overview Join our progressive dairy farm team in a beautiful corner of Connecticut as a Dairy Farm Equipment Operator/Feeder, where your energy and expertise will drive the daily operations feeding our herd of dairy cows and farm machinery maintenance. This vital role combines monitoring and delivering feed , with skilled equipment operation, ensuring the health of our livestock and the efficiency of our farm operations. Responsibilities Operate agricultural loaders, heavy equipment and feed truck, and farm machinery safely and efficiently to support daily farm activities. Feed livestock accurately according to nutritional plans, monitor animal health, and monitor feed inventories. While maintaining a clean safe work enviroment. Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on farm equipment, including feed and acurraccy records and mechanical repairs as needed. Manage the feed center , feed inventories, maintenence records pen changes livestock numbers Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and the use of hand tools or power tools to support equipment upkeep and farm infrastructure. Maintain safety standards by adhering to production safety protocols, operating machinery responsibly, and ensuring a hazard-free environment. Assist with irrigation systems, cropping and storage of crops. Skills Proven experience in farm work, agriculture, or related outdoor roles with a strong understanding of farming practices. Skilled in operating payloaders, power tools, skid loaders, trucks and heavy machinery. Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair, maintenance of farm machinery, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina for outdoor work. Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and experience with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) procedures. Basic math skills for inventory management or feed calculations.
