Job Summary The Farm Facilities team is responsible for maintaining the farm's buildings, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment that supports daily agricultural operations, events, staff, and guests. Essential Responsibilities Maintain all farm buildings, barns, greenhouses, storage areas, and support facilities in safe and operational condition. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on farm infrastructure, including fencing, gates, irrigation systems, utilities, and drainage. Complete general repairs involving carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, and basic electrical work as needed. Operate and maintain farm equipment, tractors, utility vehicles, power tools, and maintenance machinery safely and efficiently. Coordinate seasonal property maintenance, including mowing, trimming, snow removal, leaf cleanup, and landscape upkeep. Ensure roadways, parking areas, walkways, and public spaces remain clean, safe, and accessible. Assist with the setup and breakdown of farm events, educational programs, weddings, and special functions by preparing facilities, equipment, and grounds. Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, equipment, and repair materials; recommend purchases when necessary. Work collaboratively with farm management and production teams to prioritize facility improvement projects. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs to minimize operational disruptions. Follow all OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining a safe work environment. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment service records, and inspection reports. Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs or services are required. Support sustainability initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste management practices. Assist with farm infrastructure improvements, renovation projects, and capital maintenance initiatives. Participate in weekend, holiday, and on-call schedules as needed to support farm operations and special events. Qualifications Experience in facilities maintenance, property management, construction, agriculture, or a related field preferred. Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general repair techniques. Ability to safely operate tractors, utility vehicles, and power equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Flexible schedule, including weekends and seasonal overtime when required. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety standards in production environments. Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance; experience with power tools and hand tools required. Strong understanding of safety protocols for heavy equipment operation and manual handling tasks. Basic math skills for measurements and operational calculations; excellent organizational skills for record keeping.
