GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
: Operating harvester for sugarcane harvesting, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of equipment when loading wagons and navigating fields. This role requires strict adherence to safety regulations and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Additionally, the position involves conducting daily visual and mechanical inspections of equipment and performing other related tasks as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Operates sugarcane harvester to perform tasks related to harvesting sugarcane. Proven capability to operate harvesters efficiently and safely. Safely loading wagons alongside harvesters navigating fields. Skilled in maneuvering harvester to ensure safety near canals, tractors and co-workers. Adheres strictly to all safety rules, regulations, or procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Perform basic daily inspections on equipment, both visual and mechanical checks. Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
: Ability to be focused and be attentive for long hours. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with co-workers. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure. Good communication skills. Bilingual preferred (Spanish).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred. 1+ year of farm equipment operating experience, preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
: Regular attendance is required during your scheduled shift, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, and foggy working conditions depending on weather. Must be able to work in all positions (overhead, kneeling, reaching, crawling & working in small workspaces) & be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
