Job Summary The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure efficient and effective water management. This role requires technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing irrigation issues, installing new systems, and providing outstanding customer service. Core Values Culture of Safety

  • Treating Others as we want to be treated Supervisory Responsibilities None Duties/Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation system components, including valves, solenoids, manifolds, wiring, controllers/clocks, sprinkler heads, pumps, and modules.
Locate, excavate, and replace damaged or malfunctioning irrigation equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on irrigation systems, including lake re-circulation systems and water features. Test soil and vegetation to determine irrigation needs and make adjustments to maximize efficiency. Install and maintain new residential and commercial irrigation systems, including digging trenches, laying pipes, and installing pumps, timers, and electrical components. Test and program irrigation controllers and decoders to ensure proper functioning. Map out irrigation installation areas and read blueprints to execute accurate system layouts. Conduct routine inspections to monitor system performance and make necessary repairs. Maintain proper inventory of irrigation tools, parts, and supplies. Keep accurate logs of completed repairs and work orders. Provide excellent customer service by establishing and maintaining client relationships and addressing irrigation-related concerns. Assist with snow removal and other landscape-related duties as assigned. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or a related field preferred. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, including two-wire and multi-strand systems. Ability to install, program, and troubleshoot irrigation clocks/controllers. Experience in pump station operation and maintenance. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Effective oral and written communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent customer service and teamwork abilities. Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Irrigation certification (preferred). Education and Experience High school graduate or equivalent desired Previous outside construction, landscape, or similar field experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must 6 months commercial landscape experience preferred but not required Physical Requirements Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and work in various positions for extended periods. Full range of mobility in upper and lower body. Ability to lift, push, and pull materials and equipment throughout the workday. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
