Job Description Full Time:
Yes Number of Workers Requested:

Job Duties:
Yontz Family Farms, Inc. is a 175-year-old family-owned and operated farming operation encompassing 3,600 acres of corn and soybean production, with 575,000 bushels of on-site grain storage and 640 acres under irrigation. Our primary production season runs from March through November, encompassing planting, crop maintenance, and harvest. During the winter months of December, January, and early February, operations slow significantly, and work is limited primarily to equipment maintenance and hauling grain to commercial elevators. Due to the reduced workload during this period, we do not have sufficient work to employ H-2A workers during these months. We operate as a fully self-sufficient farm, performing all fertilizer application, nitrogen application, planting, spraying, harvesting, and trucking in-house. We maintain a heated workshop for winter equipment repairs and preventative maintenance. Employees must possess general knowledge of tractor and equipment operation, demonstrate precision and attention to detail when applying costly crop inputs, and have the mechanical aptitude to identify potential equipment issues and assist with repairs. As a highly developed and professional farming operation, we expect all employees to demonstrate excellent work habits, integrity, and adherence to a strong code of conduct. Job duties include preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, irrigation systems, and other farm machinery; engaging in planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting activities; fertilizing and spraying crops; installing, maintaining, and repairing pivot irrigation systems; observing and monitoring machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; loading and unloading crops and materials; operating harvesting equipment; completing maintenance and repairs on irrigation and farm equipment; driving pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools; and inspecting, adjusting, and performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer
