A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description

Description Belstra Group Farms LLC is a pig production organization with multiple swine farm facilities located in Northwest Indiana. Belstra is in search of a full-time bus driver, light maintenance & pig care at our Sow Units. Belstra Group Farms is committed to producing the highest quality of pigs. This individual is responsible for safely driving a bus filled with pigs from site to site. This job starts at 6 am each day averaging 50 hours per week, including weekends. The individual member must work in compliance with all the company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations. Job Duties and Responsibilities (Included but not limited to): Driving a remodeled school bus filled with pigs safely from driveway to barn General welding and electrical work Routine equipment/facility maintenance Use common hand and power tools Some pig handling Keep the bus clean Follow all animal handling guidelines & biosecurity requirements Requirements Skills and Requirements (Included but not limited to): Able to drive safely on the road in all weather conditions Patience and attention to detail Withstand exposure to seasonal weather conditions Basic knowledge of farm maintenance
Physical Demands:
Stand, walk, or be on feet for long periods of time Frequently bend, reach, squat, kneel Frequently use one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull. Frequently lift objects weighing 50+ pounds
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D Valid driver's license Bilingual is a plus, English is required Previous pig production experience is plus, but not required
