Job Description

Job Summary The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of irrigation systems for residential, commercial, or agricultural properties. This role requires technical skill in diagnosing system faults and the physical capability to perform manual labor outdoors, ensuring all water systems operate efficiently and effectively.
Duties System Maintenance and Repair:
Perform routine maintenance checks. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair all types of irrigation system components, including sprinkler heads, lines, pipes, valves, wiring, and controllers.
Installation Support:
Assist the Team Leader with new system installations, including manual labor such as digging trenches, laying pipe, backfilling, and installing heads and controllers as directed.
System Adjustments:
Adjust spray patterns, check pressure, and program controllers (timers) to ensure optimal coverage and water conservation for varying landscape needs and seasonal changes.
Inspections and Audits:
Conduct routine wet checks and system audits to identify necessary repairs or enhancements.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all service calls, repairs performed, parts used, and hours worked. Complete work orders and service reports promptly and clearly.
Equipment Use and Care:
Safely operate company vehicles (if applicable), trenchers, pipe cutters, multimeters, wire locators, and various hand and power tools. Ensure tools and equipment are kept clean and in good working order.
Client Interaction:
Communicate respectfully and clearly with clients or property managers about the status of their systems, necessary repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques, PPE usage, and safe operation of equipment.
Qualifications Experience:
Prefer 1-2 years of practical experience in irrigation maintenance, landscaping, or a related field.
Technical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of irrigation system hydraulics, electrical components, and standard repair techniques. Familiarity with common irrigation products (e.g., Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro) is a plus.
Certifications:
A valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.
Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions, including standing, kneeling, bending, digging, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
