2026 Flower Farm Field and Greenhouse Assistant Weatherlow Farms, Westport MA Starting at $21/hr Low Season (April, November): 20 hrs/week, 3 days/week, Tuesday-Thursday High Season (May through October): 40 hrs/week, 5 days/week, Monday-Friday The responsibility of this role on our flower team will be to assist the Field and Greenhouse Manager in all aspects of growing 300+ varieties of flowers using no-till intensive growth methods, which includes:
  • Bed preparation, including removal of spent crops, broadforking, spreading compost and amendments and mulch, etc.
  • Transplanting seedlings and plants
  • Annual plant care, including weeding, pinching, trellising
  • Perennial plant care, including weeding, dividing, mulching
  • Weekly assessment of high tunnels and field, scout for disease and insect pressure, monitor crop health, and associated spreadsheets/recordkeeping Additional tasks if time/interest allows:
  • Irrigation and foliar feeding scheduling, set up, running, and maintenance
  • Perennial propagation and seed saving Candidate must be:
  • Past farming experience necessary
  • floral experience prioritized
  • Excited to commit to a the growing season as a vital member of our small team, and passionately Interested in the wild and beautiful world of specialty cut flowers
  • Able to work outside, with early mornings and long days, in extremely variable New England weather conditions while maintaining a sense of humor
  • Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
  • In possession of a viable (and clean) drivers license, and a mode of transport to and from work
