Job Summary Join our dynamic Farm / Outdoor Team at Pond Hill Farm in beautiful Harbor Springs. Full or part time as well as internships with housing are available. Become a vital part of cultivating a thriving agricultural environment on a working farm, winery, brewery, & market property. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors across various farm operations, supporting animal care, crop cultivation, equipment maintenance, and general farm management. You will be actively involved in hands-on tasks that promote sustainable farming practices while ensuring safety and efficiency. All roles are paid positions, offering valuable experience in a lively farm setting. Responsibilities Operate and maintain farm machinery including tractors, irrigation systems, and heavy equipment such as forklifts and power tools. Assist with animal husbandry tasks, including livestock handling, feeding, cleaning, and health monitoring to ensure animal welfare. Perform manual handling duties such as lifting, moving supplies, fencing repairs, and equipment setup to support daily farm operations. Conduct routine equipment repairs and maintenance using hand tools, welding techniques, and basic mechanical knowledge to keep machinery in optimal condition. Oversee crop cultivation activities including planting, watering, pruning, greenhouse management, and growing experience to promote healthy yields. Follow strict safety standards in all production activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for everyone on site. Support irrigation processes and horticultural tasks to optimize plant growth and farm productivity. Assist with livestock management practices including animal husbandry procedures and ensuring proper animal care standards are met. Collaborate with team members on outdoor projects involving heavy lifting, equipment operation, and manual labor to achieve daily goals efficiently. Experience Proven supervising experience or leadership roles within farm or outdoor environments preferred. Hands-on experience operating agricultural machinery such as tractors, forklifts, power tools, and irrigation systems. Knowledge of animal care practices including livestock handling and animal husbandry techniques. Mechanical skills related to equipment repair, maintenance of farm machinery, welding, and general mechanical troubleshooting. Prior outdoor work experience in farming or horticulture settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling tasks is essential. Experience with greenhouse management or growing crops is a plus.
