AG EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Northwest Missouri | Full-Time | Sure-Ag LLC Sure-Ag LLC is looking for a dependable, hardworking Ag Equipment Operator to join our team and help serve growers and cattlemen throughout Northwest Missouri. This is a hands-on agricultural position for someone who enjoys operating equipment, working outdoors, solving problems, and taking pride in getting the job done right. The primary responsibility will be operating agricultural application equipment, including fertilizer spreaders and sprayers, while providing dependable service to our customers. This position is ideal for an individual who is comfortable working independently and understands that in a small, growing agricultural business, everyone may wear several hats.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate fertilizer spreaders, sprayers, and other agricultural application equipment. Apply fertilizer, crop protection products, and other agricultural products accurately and safely. Perform pre-operation inspections and basic maintenance on application equipment. Calibrate spreaders and sprayers and ensure accurate application rates. Monitor equipment performance and identify mechanical or operational problems. Communicate with growers, cattlemen, and other customers in a professional manner. Maintain accurate application and load records. Load, unload, and handle agricultural products and equipment. Assist with seasonal fertilizer and chemical operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all applicable safety procedures, product labels, and company policies.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Because Sure-Ag is an agricultural business where the workload changes with the season, this position will assist with other areas of the operation. Depending on the needs of the business, duties may include: Performing basic mechanical repairs and equipment maintenance. Servicing trucks, spreaders, sprayers, trailers, and other equipment. Troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic problems. Operating heavy-duty trucks. Loading and unloading trucks and trailers. Moving equipment and agricultural products between locations. Loading, filling, and transporting anhydrous ammonia nurse wagons. Assisting with anhydrous ammonia operations and seasonal fertilizer logistics. Operating forklifts, skid steers, loaders, and other material-handling equipment. Assisting in the shop and facility when field work is not required. General facility, yard, and equipment maintenance. Other duties necessary to keep the agricultural operation running efficiently.

INDEPENDENT WORK

The successful candidate must be capable of working independently without constant supervision . There will be times when the operator is working alone in a field, at a customer's farm, in the shop, or performing transportation and equipment-related duties.

The ability to:

Make sound decisions in the field. Recognize and address basic equipment problems. Manage time and priorities. Complete assigned work without someone standing over you. Communicate when a problem requires additional assistance. Take ownership of the equipment and work entrusted to you. is essential to this position. We are looking for someone who can be trusted to go to the field, get the job done correctly and safely, and communicate with the team when the job is complete or when an issue arises.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Agricultural equipment operating experience preferred. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to safely operate large agricultural equipment. Ability to work independently. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic repairs and maintenance. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, climb, bend, and perform physical work associated with agricultural operations. Dependable transportation to and from work. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Preferred:

Previous experience operating fertilizer spreaders or agricultural sprayers. CDL or willingness to obtain one. Experience operating heavy-duty trucks. Experience with anhydrous ammonia equipment. Experience with fertilizer and crop protection products. Experience with GPS guidance, rate controllers, and precision-ag equipment. Basic welding, electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical experience. Agricultural background or experience working with farmers and cattlemen.

LICENSING & TRAINING

Depending on assigned duties, the successful candidate may be required to obtain or maintain: Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Commercial pesticide applicator license/certification. Required agricultural chemical handling training. Anhydrous ammonia handling and safety training. DOT and company-required safety training. Sure-Ag will provide required company and job-specific training for qualified employees.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Agriculture doesn't operate on a 9-to-5 schedule, particularly during planting and harvest seasons. Seasonal workload and weather can require longer hours, early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends .
