The Superintendent of Elections maintain the efficiency and integrity of the voting process, while managing the ongoing extensive and intricate changes in the voting laws.
Job Description:
This employment opportunity will be to serve as a Voting Machine Technician. Under supervision, maintains and repairs voting machines; does other related work as required.
Job Responsibilities:
Tests, maintains, repairs and makes necessary mechanical electrical and electronic changes to voting machines. Operates several types of office machines. Performs set-ups for elections including set up diagnostics, pre-logic and accuracy tests, also ballot verification and simulation voting tests. Helps in folding of election ballots and inserting them into emergency ballot boxes for various wards and districts.
Schedule:
Full time (35 hours/week). Evening, weekends and holidays prior to primary/general elections as required. Overtime as required.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma Other Requirements:
Any previous technical experience with voting machines is welcomed, but not required. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office or related units. Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey which is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
