Irrigation Technician

Job Description

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent/Sr. Golf Course Superintendent, and/or Foreman, the Irrigation Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or GED certified. Previous experience in golf course irrigation operations preferred. Must possess valid Class D driver's license upon date of hire and maintain validity throughout employment at SAGC, Inc.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

Knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system. Ability to troubleshoot and repair irrigation problems. Ability to install irrigation valves, pipes and heads.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Repair & Maintain Irrigation System Identify parts and supplies needed for irrigation system. Involvement in daily course preparation, including cup setting, tee markers, and mowing. Occasionally directs a small labor force for special projects related to the irrigation system. Maintain a clean, safe work environment.

MACHINERY/EQUIPMENT USED

All golf course equipment, including tractors, hand tools, skid steer, loaders, mowers, backhoes, trucks, and all other maintenance equipment.

$17.50 - $21.00 per hour
