Our Company:

Millcreek Gardens LLC is a wholesale greenhouse and nursery operation that grows and sells high quality, container-grown perennials, herbs, annuals, ornamental grasses, shrubs, and ferns to independent garden centers, landscape contractors, farm markets and municipalities within a 250-mile radius of Columbus, Ohio. Our company was established in 1978 and is still family-owned. Our team works hard every day to carry out our mission: "Growing High Quality Plants, People and Relationships." Assistant Grower As an Assistant Grower, you'll work closely with the Section Grower to manage and maintain a healthy, high-quality crop. You'll play a key role in daily greenhouse operations — helping to plan, organize, and oversee tasks in your assigned growing area to ensure productive, profitable results.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Growing & Production Work closely with Section Growers and the Growing Operations & Nursery Supervisor to support all cultural and plant care activities in your assigned growing area. This is a hands-on role that also involves training Millcreek staff in best practices including: Watering, pruning, spacing, weeding, fertilizing, and spraying Moving plant material and covering greenhouses Propagation tasks such as cutting, sticking, dividing, seeding, and transplanting General crop production and maintenance duties 2. Inventory Management Assist Section Growers with managing plant inventory using SBI software.

Responsibilities include:

Updating inventory quantities, comments, crop status, and ready dates Monitoring crop development and assigning accurate plant heights/grades Inputting plant data into SBI and collaborating with shipping and growing teams to ensure accuracy 3. Plant Maintenance & Protection Support pest and disease management in the greenhouse and nursery by: Scouting crops and identifying pest or disease issues Assisting in the development of control strategies Applying chemical treatments safely and responsibly Participating in pesticide safety training and ensuring compliance with safety protocols 4. Operational Support Help maintain the efficiency and cleanliness of the growing area by: Maximizing labor and space usage in coordination with the growing team Performing regular weed control (manual and chemical) Cleaning and organizing greenhouse and nursery areas Maintaining tools and equipment, stocking supplies, and assisting with supply inventory

Important Note:

•Mandatory overtime is required during the peak season (Spring).

Minimum Qualifications:
Education :

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience :

Minimum 1 year of experience in a Growing position with similar duties.

Technology :
