Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and experienced Stable Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equine and farm animal care, with the ability to perform outdoor work in all weather conditions. This role involves maintaining the daily care and cleanliness of our horses and barn facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our animals. The Stable Hand will work independently and follow directions closely to support the overall operation of the farm. Duties Feed and water horses according to established schedules and protocols Turn out horses into pastures and bring them back into the barn as needed Pick horses' feet regularly to maintain hoof health Blanket and unblanket horses based on weather conditions and individual needs Clean stalls, paddocks, and other barn areas to ensure a tidy environment Maintain cleanliness of small dry paddock and surrounding areas Handle livestock safely during daily activities, demonstrating proper animal husbandry techniques Perform general barn maintenance tasks, including cleaning equipment and organizing supplies Follow safety procedures when handling animals and performing physical work outdoors Requirements Previous experience working with horses in a farm setting is required Outdoor work experience is essential; ability to perform physical barn work in all weather conditions Must be at least 18 years old with own reliable transportation Ability to safely handle horses and livestock with confidence and care Dependable, reliable, and able to follow detailed instructions accurately Capable of working independently with a positive attitude Knowledge of animal husbandry practices related to equine care is preferred This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic farm environment while caring for animals that depend on your expertise.
