Irrigation Service Technician Reports to:

Service Supervisor Summary:

The Irrigation Service Technician is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks in order to assist with the completion of Irrigation Service projects. The Irrigation Service Technician will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

Job Duties:

Read work order. Troubleshoot standard and/or minor repairs. Be able to repair problem correctly. Responsible for stock on truck and restocking. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment to complete job tasks. Watch for utility markings and zone changes. Fits piping for irrigation systems. Conduct daily safety inspections of tools and equipment. Complete daily paperwork tracking job time and material costs. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times. Comply with all company policies and regulations. Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations. Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner. Test irrigation to ensure all parts are working and zones are accurate. Monitor quality control to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsible for repair completion and acceptable cleanup. Be able to inspect, troubleshoot and repair pumps

Inspection:

Use remote control to check system. Complete detailed inspection listing problems by zone. Oversee any needed repairs. Use air compressor to blow out system at end of season.

EXPERIENCE

2 years of experience in installation, repair, and inspection of irrigation systems.

SKILLS:

Must be able to operate a remote control, multi-meter, and wire locator. Good knowledge and understanding of irrigation systems. Basic time keeping, including calculating hours worked. Basic math, including measurements and pipe sizing. Problem solving. Trouble shooting. Supervisory skills. Class E Drivers License with acceptable MVR. Be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card. Pass DOT drug test.

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
