A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Reporting to the Irrigation Service Manager, this position is responsible for performing hands-on irrigation service and repair work, supporting system, ensuring customer satisfaction, and upholding RL's standards of safety, professionalism, and craftsmanship. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Install irrigation systems including mainlines, lateral lines, valves, sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, controllers, and associated components. Read and interpret irrigation plans, layouts, blueprints, and as-built drawings. Perform trenching, pipe fitting, wiring, controller programming, and system startup procedures. Install, program, and troubleshoot smart irrigation controllers, rain sensors, freeze sensors, and other water management technologies.
Maintenance & Repairs:
Diagnose and repair irrigation system issues including leaks, broken pipes, faulty valves, wiring problems, controller malfunctions, pumps, and pressure-related issues. Perform seasonal startups, winterizations, system inspections, and preventative maintenance. Adjust sprinkler heads and nozzles to ensure proper coverage, system performance, and water. Troubleshoot two-wire and decoder-based irrigation systems. Identify and recommend repairs, upgrades, and improvements that enhance system performance and reduce water waste.
Customer Service & Documentation:
Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and service solutions clearly and professionally to clients and property managers. Maintain positive customer relationships through exceptional service, professionalism, and responsiveness. Educate customers on proper system operation, seasonal adjustments, maintenance best practices, and water conservation strategies. Accurately document completed work, materials used, labor hours, and recommendations for future repairs within company-approved systems. Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 1-3 years of irrigation experience preferred. Equivalent mechanical, plumbing, construction, or landscape industry experience may be considered. Valid driver's license Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate irrigation equipment, tools, and company vehicles. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active commercial job sites. Ability to perform frequent physical activity, including bending, kneeling, digging, climbing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
