Job Description

Job Summary Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all irrigation components, including irrigation controls, pump stations, sprinkler heads and wiring. Supervise or perform repairs, preventive maintenance and adjustments to the Club's equipment related to irrigation. Possess knowledge of all Golf Course Maintenance operations and have ability to perform other jobs not related to irrigation work (mowing greens) as directed by the Golf Course Maintenance Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Maintenance Superintendent. Duties Responsible for irrigating the golf course properly and adequately using the irrigation system, hand-held hoses, and various other forms of irrigation Provides instruction and training of personnel assigned to irrigation work, including hand watering or repairing leaks Provides a daily check of the entire course to inspect for leaks and wet or dry areas; makes repairs or adjustments where necessary Performs scheduled maintenance of all irrigation components Responsible for: Digging and repairing leaks on all sizes of pipe including PVC and steel lines New installations and or upgrades or changes to the existing irrigation system Troubleshooting and ability to repair electrical irrigation components such as satellite controllers, wiring and other related components Helps in ordering and maintaining irrigation parts inventory Ensures orders are pre-approved by the Golf Course Maintenance Superintendent Demonstrates ability to operate any equipment associated with the maintenance of the golf course and maintenance and repair of irrigation components
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands - Reading, ability to perform basic arithmetic, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), maintain emotional control under stress Physical Demands - Inside and outside work in all types of weather, works with and operates heavy equipment, frequently required to bend, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally required to lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds; exposed to chemicals, fertilizers and other associated products and materials.
