• Licensed Glenwood Cemetery Position Summary Glenwood Cemetery is seeking a dependable and skilled Irrigation Technician to maintain, operate, inspect, and repair irrigation systems throughout the cemetery grounds.

This position supports the health and appearance of turf, trees, gardens, flower beds, and landscaped areas. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work independently outdoors in varying weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair irrigation systems. Diagnose and repair leaks, sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, wiring, pipes, and other components. Adjust sprinkler heads, zones, water pressure, and irrigation schedules for proper coverage and water conservation. Perform seasonal irrigation startup, inspections, repairs, shutdown, and winterization. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical irrigation components. Monitor systems for leaks, runoff, overspray, and other water-wasting conditions. Coordinate with irrigation contractors when repairs exceed routine maintenance. Maintain irrigation tools, equipment, valve boxes, and work areas. Work with Grounds and Horticulture teams to support watering and landscape maintenance. Perform other grounds-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous irrigation, landscaping, horticulture, grounds maintenance, or related experience preferred. Knowledge of irrigation systems, sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, pipes, and fittings. Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills preferred. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, irrigation equipment, and vehicles. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Dependable, punctual, professional, and safety-conscious. Valid driver's license preferred or required for cemetery vehicles. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, rainy, and freezing conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds . Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, reach, and work in confined areas. Ability to dig and access underground irrigation components. Ability to work safely on uneven terrain and around water, mud, landscaping, and roads. Work Schedule Generally Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m
