We are looking for someone who understands irrigation systems, enjoys troubleshooting problems, takes pride in doing repairs correctly, and can work independently without needing constant supervision. This is a hands-on field position, but it is also an opportunity to become an important part of a growing irrigation operation. Environmental Enhancements is already an established commercial landscape company, but we are still at a stage where strong employees can make a very noticeable impact. As our customer base grows, we want to build an irrigation team around people who are dependable, technically capable, organized, and interested in growing with the company. The Role The Irrigation Technician will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving irrigation systems across commercial landscapes, multifamily properties, HOAs, and other managed sites. You will work closely with our Account Managers, Production Manager, maintenance teams, and customers to identify irrigation problems, document repairs, and help ensure systems are operating efficiently and reliably. This role requires someone who can diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts. We want technicians who are comfortable asking: What caused the problem? What is the correct repair? Is there another issue we should address while we are here? Primary Responsibilities Irrigation Troubleshooting & Repair Diagnose and repair commercial irrigation systems including: Broken sprinkler heads Rotors Spray heads MP Rotators Drip irrigation Valves Solenoids Lateral line breaks Mainline breaks Wiring problems Controller issues Pressure problems Coverage issues Leaks Backflow-related irrigation issues Two-wire system issues Decoder problems Ground faults Master valve and flow-related problems Troubleshoot systems methodically and identify the underlying cause of failures whenever possible. Make repairs according to professional irrigation standards rather than relying on temporary fixes. Irrigation Inspections Perform detailed irrigation inspections at commercial properties. Run irrigation zones and identify problems related to: Coverage Leaks Broken components Misaligned heads Clogged nozzles Damaged drip Valve operation Controller programming Wiring Pressure Overspray Water waste Clearly document identified deficiencies. Physically flag irrigation problems in the field so repair locations can be easily identified. Communicate findings accurately so Account Managers can prepare estimates and explain repairs to customers. Controllers & Programming Work with common commercial irrigation controllers and systems.

Responsibilities may include:

Programming watering schedules Seasonal adjustments Troubleshooting controller faults Identifying electrical issues Replacing damaged components Confirming zone operation Testing rain sensors and related devices Diagnosing communication issues Experience with Hunter, Rain Bird, or similar commercial irrigation systems is highly valuable. Experience with two-wire systems is especially valuable. Commercial Property Support Work closely with our Account Managers to respond quickly to customer irrigation needs. Help identify irrigation problems that may be affecting turf, trees, plant material, or overall property appearance. Communicate urgent issues quickly, especially when irrigation failures may result in plant loss, excessive water use, property damage, or customer complaints. Coordinate with maintenance crews when irrigation work affects landscape production. Documentation Accurate documentation is an important part of this position. Technicians will be expected to provide clear information regarding: Repairs completed Parts used Labor performed Issues identified Recommended repairs Controller changes Zones affected Photos when appropriate Good documentation helps us communicate with customers, build accurate estimates, track job costs, and avoid repeated diagnostic work. Job Cost Awareness Help ensure irrigation repairs are completed efficiently. Track time and materials accurately. Communicate when a repair is becoming significantly larger than originally anticipated. Avoid unnecessary material use or repeat trips whenever possible. Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate has practical irrigation experience and is comfortable troubleshooting systems independently. Formal irrigation education is helpful, but real-world experience and problem-solving ability are extremely important to us.
