Job Description

Farm Associate A private farm in Orlean, Virginia is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Farm Associate to join our team. This is a part-time position, 3 days per week, including Saturday mornings. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who loves working with animals and wants to gain real experience operating a working farm. You'll be an important part of daily farm life keeping our animals healthy, our facilities clean, and our operation running smoothly. This farm operation includes an active agritourism component.
Responsibilities:
Daily animal care including feeding, watering, and providing fresh hay; mucking stalls, paddocks/fields, and other facilities; assisting with health procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and other routine treatments; maintaining a clean and organized barn; plus other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States Some prior experience working with livestock and/or horses Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently Good communication skills and a calm, patient demeanor Reliable and committed to showing up as scheduled Genuine care for the well-being of animals Able to lift and carry for short distances up to 50 lbs.
