Assistant Dispensary Manager

Job Description

Position Summary The Assistant Manager plays a key leadership role in the daily operations of the cannabis facility. This includes supporting retail, processing, or hybrid operations depending on the license type. The Assistant Manager ensures compliance with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) cannabis regulations, manages team performance, and maintains a safe, secure, and customer-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the General Manager with the day-to-day management of facility operations (retail, cultivation, or production) Supervise and mentor staff; lead by example to promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and compliance Monitor inventory, product flow, and track-and-trace system (e.g., BioTrack) Ensure full compliance with Connecticut cannabis laws and DCP regulations, including security protocols and reporting Assist with scheduling, employee training, and performance evaluations Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency in accordance with SOPs Respond to audits, inspections, and investigations as needed Address customer or patient concerns and provide education on product offerings (if in retail/dispensary setting) Assist with cash handling, deposits, and financial reporting Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support sales goals, product launches, or cultivation cycles Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older Must pass a state and federal background check as required by Connecticut cannabis laws 2+ years of management or supervisory experience in a regulated industry (cannabis, retail, healthcare, or manufacturing preferred) Working knowledge of Connecticut's cannabis laws and DCP compliance requirements Experience with seed-to-sale systems such as BioTrack or similar Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with strict attention to detail Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed Preferred Qualifications Prior cannabis industry experience (cultivation, processing, or retail) Cannabis-specific safety training Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills a plus Knowledge of horticulture or plant science (for cultivation facility roles) Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Employee discounts Opportunities for career advancement in a growing industry Equal Opportunity Employer We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
