Type:

full-time Management & Consulting Solutions, Inc. (MACS), an industry leader in the management of construction upgrades and installations on large industrial projects, is looking for an experienced Project Piping Coordinator for a paper-machine press rebuild at a containerboard mill in Montville, CT. This is a full-time position with an immediate on-site assignment running through the fall 2026 outage and start-up (approximately 2-3 months), with potential to continue on future MACS projects. This role is a night-shift assignment during the outage. Permanent relocation is not required, but on-site work is required 20-25 days per month. A per diem allowance for housing and food, plus compensated travel between site and home, are provided.

Duties include:
  • A daily presence in the field to supervise and oversee piping contractors, keeping their work on schedule and under budget while maintaining safe working conditions, including identifying and removing roadblocks to contractor progress toward production targets
  • Create, review, and approve Requests for Quotation for the labor, material, and equipment needed to complete the scope
  • Order material and equipment to complete scope, including verifying quantities through takeoffs and approving contractor requisitions
  • Create, maintain, and update the piping schedule
  • Review and monitor the piping contractors' schedules, productivity, and budgets with an emphasis on QA/QC
  • Perform construction-commissioning activities, including creation of CCO packages
  • Support all safety aspects of the construction site
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in the industrial-construction piping field (pulp and paper a plus)
  • Ability to manage manpower and budgets on large projects
  • Ability to think critically and independently to make sound decisions
  • Attention to detail is critical for success
Compensation:
  • Hourly, depending on experience. Non-exempt; overtime paid at 1.5x base rate. Anticipated 50-60 hours per week.
