Assistant Manager- GreenviewSummary/ObjectiveThe Assistant Manager is mainly responsible for assisting the location manager in daily operations. This position will be heavily involved with custom mixing duties at the facility while also providing sales opportunities. The position will work closely with all employees at the location or assigned to the area including sales and field advisors. The position must maintain accurate application records and communicate with customers. The Assistant Manager will assist the Plant Manager with providing agronomic support, education, and sales management within the designated area. The Assistant Manager will report to the Greenview Plant Manager. This position will work with the Greenview customer base and is a potential opportunity for growth into other positions.Essential FunctionsOperate and maintain all equipment and vehiclesMix and load pesticides and fertilizersInventory management of seed, chemical and fertilizerScout fields as directed Custom apply products as needed Provide agronomic support to local customersProvide agronomic advice to customers and staffKnowledge of the retail agronomy industryAnswer questions concerning products Builds and develops long-term relationships with customers, peers and suppliersProvide problem solving and understanding of customer needs to reach customers goals and expectationsKnowledgeable of seed, chemical and fertilizer to make informed decisionsCalls on regular or prospective customers to generate new businessRequired CompetenciesTeamwork/Collaboration SkillsExcellent Communication SkillsRelationship BuildingCustomer FocusIndependent Self-StarterAbility to multitask Proficiency in Excel and WordSupervisory ResponsibilityNot applicable to this position. Work EnvironmentThe Assistant Manager will work at the Greenview Agronomic Services facility. This position may be working in cold or hot weather. Classification/Expected Hours of EmploymentThis position is a full time position and is non-exempt. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday but seasonal overtime is required. TravelNot applicable to this position. Required Education and ExperienceBachelors degree in Ag Related preferred4 years of agronomic experience required. Intermediate computer and software skills required.
CDL is required. Hazmat endorsement preferred. Valid Drivers License is required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
