Idyll Farms is a 500-acre regenerative goat dairy and creamery in Northport, Michigan. We raise Certified Humane® Alpine goats on rotationally grazed pastures rich in Great Lakes terroir. Our regenerative approach rebuilds soil health, increases biodiversity, and sequesters carbon — producing exceptional milk that is crafted into internationally award-winning cheeses. As our herd is expanding and production is increasing, we are looking for an Assistant Farm Manager who can come on-board full time and provide some addition support as we continue to grow and expand our work-force. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception. Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Primarily be responsible for leading, coaching, and training our employees as they maintain the farmstead, dairy, orchard and pasture; as such, having experience in those areas will be critical. Managing inventory for animal feed and farm supplies Scheduling outside services, such as: electricians, plumbers, maintenance and inspectors Developing work schedules based on seasonal needs Participating in employee evaluations and training schedules Participating in emergency preparedness and safety awareness procedures Maintaining and verifying all farm logs and checklists Operating equipment Supervise employees
