Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Dairy Farm Manager to help the daily operations of a thriving dairy farm. In this role, you will work with current staff to conduct animal husbandry, field work, farm maintenance, and equipment management to ensure optimal productivity and animal welfare. Your positive energy will drive the farm's success by implementing best practices in agriculture and animal care, maintaining equipment, and fostering a positive work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a diverse range of farming activities while promoting sustainable and efficient dairy production. Responsibilities Conduct daily farm operations, including animal care, feeding, milking, and health monitoring to ensure high standards of animal husbandry. Coordinate with current staff to accomplish field work, including planting, forage, and harvesting. Maintenance and repair of farm machinery, equipment, and tools such as tractors, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery. Manage farm infrastructure including barns and fencing to optimize buildings and animal safety. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation, and general farm maintenance. Maintain detailed records of livestock health, feed schedules, equipment repairs, and farm activities for operational efficiency. Implement sustainable farming practices that promote animal welfare and environmental stewardship while maximizing productivity. Experience Proven supervising experience in agricultural or farm settings with a strong understanding of dairy operations. Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair, welding, power tools usage, and general equipment maintenance. Extensive animal husbandry experience with a focus on dairy cattle or similar livestock; knowledge of animal handling techniques is essential. Hands-on experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, irrigation systems, greenhouse technology, and other farming machinery. Familiarity with horticulture practices such as crop growing experience is advantageous. Ability to perform basic math calculations for feed rations, measurements, and record keeping accurately. Strong background in agriculture or farming disciplines with an emphasis on sustainable practices and animal care standards.
