This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, handle a variety of equipment, and contribute to conservation and educational initiatives. Your expertise will support sustainable aquaculture practices, biological sampling, and habitat management, making a tangible impact on marine life preservation. Duties Maintain and operate aquarium systems, including filtration, plumbing, and water quality monitoring to ensure optimal conditions for aquatic life Conduct biological sampling, data collection, and wildlife identification to support research and conservation efforts Handle fish care and animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, cleaning tanks, and monitoring health status Perform equipment maintenance and repairs to ensure all systems function efficiently and safely Assist with fish hatchery processes, including spawning, dissection, and rearing of juvenile fish Support outdoor work activities such as habitat restoration, field data collection, and environmental law compliance Operate boats for fieldwork activities like sampling in natural habitats or transporting equipment Skills Strong knowledge of aquaculture practices and animal husbandry techniques Experience with fish handling, dissection, and hatchery operations Familiarity with environmental law, wildlife identification, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for habitat mapping Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mechanical equipment with basic math skills for measurements and calculations Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing systems and equipment maintenance Outdoor work experience in diverse weather conditions with a focus on safety protocol adherence Excellent animal care skills combined with biological sampling expertise to support research objectives

Pay:

$14.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per week
