Job Description

Overview Craftwood Farms is a family-owned agricultural operation specializing in the planting, growing, and harvesting of pecans. We are committed to hard work, land stewardship, and doing things the right way. We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Tractor Operator. This is a full-time, year-round position in our pecan farming operation. The Tractor Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of farm tractors and related implements to support planting, cultivating, harvesting, and general land maintenance. This role requires someone who takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, and can be trusted to operate equipment safely and responsibly with minimal supervision. This position is year-round and comes with a full benefits package including health, vision, dental, 401k match, disability, and paid time off. Key Responsibilities Operate tractors and attached implements (plows, sprayers, mowers, etc.) to complete field operations safely and efficiently. Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and general mechanical condition. Complete routine maintenance and minor repairs on tractors and implements; report larger mechanical issues promptly. Follow planting, spraying, and harvesting schedules as directed, adjusting for weather and field conditions. Safely transport equipment and materials between fields and storage areas. Follow all safety protocols, including safe operation around other workers, livestock, roadways, and equipment. Assist with general farm maintenance and other duties as assigned during non-peak season. Qualifications Prior experience operating farm tractors and implements strongly preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort troubleshooting minor equipment issues. Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and use good judgment in the field. Valid driver's license required; ability to safely operate equipment on public roads when necessary. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and seasonal hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends during planting and harvest. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment. Ability to climb on and off equipment safely, and to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, and other seasonal field conditions. Schedule & Compensation Full-time, with seasonal fluctuations in hours based on planting and harvest demands. Benefits include Group health insurance, 401 K retirement plan, PTO, flexible work hours. Compensation starts at $15.00-$20.00 per hour and may exceed this range based on relevant experience, years of specialized farm equipment operation, and additional qualifications such as a valid CDL license for travel-related work.
