Job Description

Come join our fun, hard-working crew! We're growing our farm operations and are looking for the right person to invest in for long term career growth and development. This position is based out of our Dennis, MA facility with regular travel to Wellfleet and Barnstable. From spawn to table, Aquacultural Research Corporation (A.R.C.) and Cape Cod Aqua-Farms plays a vital role in sustaining the shellfish industry on Cape Cod and down the Eastern seaboard. A.R.C. is a leader in aquaculture research and innovation, actively supports the shellfish industry through advocacy and restoration, pioneers solutions to coastal challenges and educates current and future generations of shellfish growers.
Position Description:
This position will be responsible for working the day to day operations of our shellfish grants. This includes seed nursery and market harvests for both oysters and clams. This area is tidal, and therefore requires flexibility in hours, be it 4:30 am starts, or wrapping up after the sun goes down.
Duties include:
Maintaining market crop health and density, performing husbandry as needed Maintaining accurate records and inventory management, including vibrio requirements Managing maintenance and repair of equipment Coordinating with other managers to ensure coverage and maximum productivity Working with management to develop long term farm plans and goals Acting as A.R.C. ambassador on the farm with seed customers and neighbors Compensation is commensurate with experience. This is a year-round, full time position.
Requirements:
Aquaculture or farming experience preferred, but we'll teach the right person! Ability to stand 8 hours a day and lift 50lbs Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation Punctuality and reliability, flexibility and ability to shift priorities as needed 30-60 hours per week, includes some weekend time as needed. Hours are variable dependent on the tides, weather, and demands
