The Grain Operations Team Lead is a hands-on position that combines the daily responsibilities of a Grain Operations Associate with leadership support for the Branch Manager. This position assists with grain elevator and railroad operations while helping supervise employees, coordinate schedules, promote safety, and maintain grain quality and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform and lead daily grain-handling operations, including receiving, sampling, grading, loading, unloading, and transferring grain. Assist with railroad operations, including loading and unloading railcars, opening and closing railcar lids, and safely moving railcars when properly trained and authorized. Operate grain-handling, elevator, and rail equipment safely. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the facility. Support and guide employees in completing daily tasks safely and efficiently. Assist with employee scheduling, timecards, training, and performance evaluations. Help conduct safety meetings and ensure required safety permits and documentation are completed properly. Monitor grain quality and assist with inventory records and reporting. Troubleshoot basic mechanical and equipment issues and assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs. Maintain required grain-grading certifications. Serve as the acting supervisor when the Branch Manager is unavailable. Occasionally assist at other Legacy locations as needed.

Qualifications:

Must meet all Grain Operations Associate and Grain Specialist requirements. Three years of relevant grain operations or supervisory experience is preferred. Must be mechanically inclined and able to assist with basic equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. Grain elevator and railroad operations experience is preferred. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to safely operate grain-handling and rail equipment. Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing bins and ladders, and working at various heights. Willingness to work extended or flexible hours during peak seasons and occasionally assist at other Legacy locations.
