Job Description

Tree Production Crew- PIP Operation Wm. A. Natorp Company • Mason, OH Position Overview The Tree Production Worker supports Natorp's Plant Production Nursery by preparing, planting, maintaining, and staging container‑grown trees within our PIP (Pot‑in‑Pot) operation. This is a full‑time, year‑round role requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Natorp's participates in the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Drug‑Free Workplace Program , which includes pre‑employment, reasonable‑suspicion, and post‑accident screening. Key Responsibilities Tree Preparation — Prepare bare‑root trees for container planting by hand‑pruning tops and root systems. This requires repetitive motions for extended periods. Container Planting — Plant prepared trees into 10-25 gallon containers, apply labels/tags, load onto wagons, water, and transport to designated nursery field locations. Field Placement — Unload containers and place them into pre‑set gravel‑bed sockets. Tree Care & Maintenance — Promote healthy growth through pruning, weeding, staking, and other best practices. Order Pulling — Select trees for customer orders once they reach saleable condition. Shipping & Loading — Assemble orders and load trucks for delivery. Schedule Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Occasional overtime or Saturday work may be available. Requirements Must be 18 years or older . Part‑time hours are not available. Three months of experience in a nursery or container‑growing operation preferred . Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to perform repetitive motions including pruning, trimming, crouching, kneeling, and climbing in and out of trucks. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 25-75+ lbs on a repetitive basis. Compensation Starting at $19.57/hour , with consideration for experience. About Natorp's Wm. A.
