Your expertise will help maintain air quality and vehicle safety, providing drivers with confidence in their vehicles' performance. This energetic position offers the opportunity to develop technical skills while contributing to community health and environmental responsibility. Duties Perform comprehensive smog inspections on a variety of vehicle makes and models, adhering strictly to state and federal regulations. Operate diagnostic equipment and emissions testing tools accurately to evaluate vehicle compliance. Explain test procedures and results clearly to customers, providing guidance on necessary repairs or adjustments if needed. Maintain detailed records of each inspection, including test results, vehicle information, and service notes. Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated, maintained, and functioning properly to guarantee accurate results. Assist customers with scheduling appointments, answering questions about emissions standards, and providing excellent service. Follow safety protocols diligently to create a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues. Requirements >.40 FPR Score or No FPR Score Prior experience or certification in automotive repair or emissions testing is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is highly valued. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy during inspections and recordkeeping. Ability to operate diagnostic tools and testing equipment effectively. Excellent communication skills for explaining technical information clearly to customers. Ability to stand for extended periods, perform physical tasks such as lifting equipment or vehicle components, and work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of local emissions regulations and testing procedures is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
