$22.00 to $24.00 Per Hour Position Overview The Crew Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, managing work crews, ensuring safety and efficiency, and coordinating logistics for NET's Urban Forestry work and projects. After at least one year of experience, at the discretion of their Manager and Department Director, a Crew Supervisor may be eligible for a level 2 Supervisor wage increase and more responsibilities, such as managing multiple teams, overseeing largerscale projects, and ensuring quality control across operations. This role requires leadership, problem-solving, and strong communication skills to support project success. When other positions become available, internal candidates are strongly considered for advancement.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise and manage crew members in daily field operations, ensuring work quality, productivity, efficiency, and team accountability
• Oversee implementation of urban green infrastructure projects, including parks, street trees, and public open spaces
• Plan and lead community planting events and public engagement activities
• Maintain and manage tools, vehicles, and equipment to support fieldwork operations
• Ensure safety compliance through regular meetings and enforcement of safety protocols
• Supervise external contract crews, such as Conservation Corps teams
• Mentor and train crew members, ensuring their professional growth and adherence to best practices
• Oversee and manage project progress, tracking deliverables and ensuring deadlines are met
• Implement quality control measures for successful project execution
• Develop strategies for community engagement and volunteer coordination
• Serve as a point of escalation for crew-related challenges and safety concerns
• Assist team members with timekeeping and application
• Represent North East Trees at public events and coordinate with external partners and stakeholders
• Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership Minimum Qualifications/Skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably with youth or community-based programs (Crew Supervisor level)
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience managing multiple teams (Senior Crew Supervisor level)
• Strong knowledge and experience in urban forestry, construction, restoration landscaping, or related fields
• Ability to work safely using hand and power tools and driving work trucks (such as F-450)
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy items and basic vehicle maintenance
• Proven ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and develop workforce skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and align with organizational goals
• Experience working with community stakeholders, volunteers, and public engagement

Special Requirements:

• Valid California Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within three months of hire)
