A Forest or Conservation Technician works with foresters and conservation scientists to help maintain forests and natural areas. Tracks data on water, soil, disease and insect damage in forest areas; tracks wildlife and maintain trails or campsites; monitors timber and logging activity; patrols and assists with forest fire prevention measures; provides information to the public on forest or natural areas conservation .
We are a growing tree planting and landscaping company in Port Charlotte, FL , seeking a dependable and motivated Tree Planter & Landscape Installation Specialist to join our team. This position focuses on transforming residential properties with high-quality tree planting and landscape installation services. We are subcontractors for a local lawn and garden store. If you enjoy working outdoors, providing excellent customer service, and being part of a dynamic team, this could be the perfect job for you! 30-40 hours per week currently and as busy season approaches 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Tree Planting:
Load, transport, and plant trees at residential properties in Port Charlotte and surrounding areas. Ensure proper planting techniques and tree care, including digging, soil preparation, and post-planting maintenance.
Landscape Installation:
Assist with the installation of shrubs, flowers, mulch, and other landscape elements at residential sites. Eventually operate truck towing the tree trailer and the mini skid steer.
Customer Service:
Interact professionally with homeowners, providing friendly and responsive service. Address any customer questions or concerns while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
Punctuality & Reliability:
Arrive at the shop early each day to load materials and equipment before heading to job sites. Be dependable and ensure the timely completion of tasks according to schedule.
Safety & Cleanliness:
Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Keep job sites clean and organized throughout the project, leaving the area tidy once work is completed.

Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Experience:
Previous experience in tree planting, landscaping, or outdoor labor is a plus, but not required— we will train the right person .
Transportation:
Must have reliable transportation to get to our shop each morning. Transportation to job sites is provided.
Compensation:
Pay:
$20-22 per hour DOE. Eligible for a performance‑based pay review after the initial 90 days. Employment is contingent upon a clean driving record and successful completion of a background check.
