Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and dependable Snow Removal Person to ensure safe and accessible outdoor spaces during winter months. This role involves clearing snow and ice from walkway and driveway to maintain safety and accessibility for patrons and staff. Responsibilities Operate snow removal equipment such as snow blower and shovel to clear snow and ice from designated outdoor areas Assess weather conditions regularly to prepare for upcoming snowfalls or icy conditions Apply salt to prevent ice formation and improve traction on walkway and stoops Ensure all pathways, entrances, and driveway are free of snow and ice hazards Follow safety protocols when operating power tools and heavy equipment to prevent accidents or injuries Communicate effectively with the Library Manager regarding priority areas and safety concerns during snow events Requirements Prior outdoor work experience, especially in winter weather conditions preferred Mechanical knowledge related to operating snow removal equipment and hand tools Ability to identify hazards such as icy patches or obstructed pathways quickly Knowledge of safety protocol adherence when handling power tools and outdoor equipment Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently in cold weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail This position is essential for ensuring safe outdoor environments during winter months.
