Participates in the maintenance of the golf course and landscape grounds and performs related work as required. Will learn all aspects of the job and be able to lead a small crew on special projects. Also will help the team achieve their goals and involved in the preparation for our annual PGA Tour event.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Involved in chemical/fertilizer applications Calibration of fertilizer equipment Monitor and perform correct watering procedures Learn all aspects of golf course management including course set up, mowing tees, greens and fairways etc Irrigation repair and technology Lead a small team to complete a special project.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent General Education Degree (GED).
REQUIREMENTS
Enrolled in a college turf program Requires oral and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Most work tasks are performed outdoors. Position requires walking; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the resort on a timely basis. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch on a regular basis to maintain the golf course Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
