Monday-Friday 6:30 am-3:00 pm The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department is a nationally accredited department and a four-time National Gold Medal Award winner for Parks and Recreation Excellence. Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
This is a maintenance position with the Bryan Park Crew. This person will be part of a 12-person team and their responsibilities will be mowing grass, preparing fields for play, setting up/breaking down goals and benches, painting lines, dragging and marking fields, cleaning restrooms, picking up trash, and spraying out weeds. This is considered service critical and would be expected to respond to severe weather cleanup. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required. The employee must have a reliable means of contact (phone/cell) and transportation. This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
HS Diploma/GED Valid Driver's License Experience maintaining athletic fields or golf courses Experience operating landscape equipment CDL Class A Driver's License ( "OR" the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date) North Carolina Pesticide License ( "OR " the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date) An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications) : Associate Degree or higher in Horticulture or a closely related field 1-3 years of experience operating reel mowers and specialized turf maintenance equipment Experience maintaining soccer fields Previous experience laying out and painting sports fields
