Food Service Coordinator-Foundations Community Childcare Reports to:

Part-time Position Summary :
The Food Service Coordinator will manage the food service operation for the center in an organized and efficient manner by directing the activities of planning and preparing the menus in accordance with state and county requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes safe work practices and procedures. Directs and participates in the preparation of food according to standardized recipes and established food preparation procedures. Prepares and serves well cooked, nutritionally balanced, and properly portioned meals. Plans food production for the week for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Assesses and orders the appropriate quantity of food to the projected meal count. Secures food and supplies according to established guidelines and requirements. Receives and verifies all deliveries and refuses unsatisfactory products or services. Prepares invoices for payment in a timely manner according to established procedures. Provides instruction and direction to other food service workers. Ensures the proper storage of food and supplies. Directs and evaluates all kitchen cleaning functions. Reports any personal injuries or accidents to the Executive Director. Reports equipment failure according to established procedures. Accurately completes and submits all required reports. Attends in-service trainings that are mandatory or would improve skills and knowledge of job expertise. Promotes nutrition awareness for staff, children, and families. Adheres to uniform and personal hygiene requirements. Complies with and supports center regulations and policies. Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities. Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Assistant Director.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:
High school diploma or education and experience equivalent Preferred experience in food service functions Person in Charge Level One Certification from the Ohio Department of Health Must be able to give directions and have the ability to get along well with others. Must possess the ability to accurately complete and submit reports according to state and county requirements. Understanding of health and safety rules that pertain to food preparation and service. Compliance with Ohio Department of Health rules and regulations for record keeping as required, including documentation of sanitization. Ability to submit and pass a background check and complete required in-service trainings. Demonstrates a high moral character, previous positive attendance record and has reliable transportation. Strong oral communication skills Must display a positive, team-based approach in the work environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. and manage prolonged standing.
Working Conditions :
General Kitchen conditions. Noise level is usually low to high.
