Job Description

The Cabin Keeper is responsible for serving guests at the Slayton Pasture Cabin. While the Cabin is open 10 AM - 3:30 PM daily in the winter. This is a unique position, the Cabin keeper is expected to stay overnight at the Cabin to keep it warm. This position helps ensure guests enjoy a special visit to the Cabin for food, warmth, and information.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve soup, sandwiches and baked goods in an often busy environment Shovel snow and keep Cabin walkways and porch clear Report on supply needs to keep Cabin stocked Communicate with Outdoor Center and Trail Crew in emergency situations Keep fires stoked throughout day to keep Cabin comfortable Clean Cabin during and after busy periods with guests Keep kitchen clean and orderly and work with other Cabinkeepers during transition days Follow all safety procedures and maintain equipment in good working order. Ski up to the Cabin at start of shift and down at the end of the shift
Qualifications:
Ability to safely ski to and from the Cabin High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in customer service, especially in dining environment, is an asset. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
