Job Description

The Winooski School District has multiple openings for skilled Behavior Interventionists who have experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Multiple Disabilities and Emotional Disabilities. Responsibilities will include providing support to students in the areas of emotional regulation, academics, functional and social skills. Essential duties & responsibilities will include: Ability to implement and adhere to behavior & crisis plans and programs for specific students.

Ability to collaborate with teachers and staff with plan development and implementation.

Model effective behavior management strategies to students and staff.

Keep detailed data on student progress.

Meet regularly with team members.

Effectively manage escalated student behavior in a therapeutic manner.

Other related duties as assigned by the supervising administrator.

The Winooski School District is a PreK through 12 system that is housed in one educational center. Employee must have the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the jobOther additional duties may include but are not limited to recess, lunch and bus support. There are physical requirements for these positions.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent, plusMinimum of 48 credit hours at an institution of higher education or Associates degree (or higher) or can meet a standard of quality through a formal State or local academic assessment.

Candidates with experience working with children (school or other settings) and/or coursework relating to the field will be a plus.

This candidate must be a team player who enjoys working with school-aged students, and has good classroom management skills. If interested, please apply through Schoolspring.
