Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This is a casual position based on referrals to mentor people with disabilities through self-advocacy.What Peer Mentors do:
Mentors people with disabilities through self-advocacy Meet 1:1 with individuals to co-create a plan and take steps towards their goals Share your lived experiences to encourage and empower othersPeer Mentor Qualifications and Requirements:
Must be 18 years old Must have an intellectual/developmental disability (IDD) Must be willing to share personal experiences to guide and support others. Experience receiving disability-related supports and services. Obtain certification as a Peer Mentor through a 90 hour paid internship Must have access to reliable transportation Ability to work in-person and virtually and use technology for documentation purpose What a Peer Mentors will gain: Earn a Peer Mentor Certification Gain professional growth and real world experiences Potential to continue after internship Work for an organization with 60+ years of strengthening communitiesWhy Choose ODC:
