Position Summary:

Join our growing team at Pacific Outdoor Living as a Specialty Construction & Landscape Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for handling smaller landscape, irrigation, paver, carpentry, and basic electrical repair projects for our residential customers. This position is ideal for a skilled, hands-on individual who can independently identify and resolve common low-level issues without requiring the expertise of a Supervisor. The majority of projects will involve minor landscape and gardening repairs, irrigation and watering concerns, small paver replacements, and fence or gate repairs. You may also be responsible for basic electrical tasks such as replacing or addressing pathway and landscape lighting issues. The ideal candidate is a versatile problem-solver who takes pride in quality workmanship and can confidently handle a variety of small repair and maintenance projects.

Performance Objectives:

• Handle small landscape and gardening repair projects, including replacing plants and addressing minor landscape issues.
• Diagnose and resolve basic irrigation and watering problems.
• Perform minor fence and gate repairs, including basic carpentry work.
• Perform small paver repair and replacement projects.
• Address basic landscape and pathway lighting issues, including minor light replacement and repairs.
• Identify the cause of small customer issues and determine the appropriate repair or solution.
• Complete assigned work efficiently, professionally, and with quality workmanship.
• Communicate with Supervisors and team members when an issue requires additional expertise or a larger scope of work.

Capabilities/Key Competencies:

• Strong hands-on problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of small repair issues.
• Practical landscaping and gardening knowledge, including familiarity with plants and basic landscape maintenance.
• Working knowledge of irrigation systems and the ability to troubleshoot basic irrigation and watering issues.
• Basic carpentry skills, including the ability to repair fences, gates, and other minor outdoor structures.
• Basic electrical knowledge and the ability to safely handle simple landscape and pathway lighting repairs.
• Familiarity with pavers and basic paver repair or replacement is preferred; training may be provided.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and complete multiple small projects efficiently.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscaping, gardening, construction, maintenance, handyman work, or a related field.
• Experience with irrigation systems, landscape maintenance, carpentry, electrical, pavers, or general property maintenance is preferred.

Requirements:

• Ability to commute daily to Sun Valley, CA.
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to residential job sites.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, standing, and working with hand and power tools.
• Must be able to work independently and manage small repair projects from start to finish.
• Bilingual; Spanish is required
