Job Description

Position Summary Village Green Landscaping is seeking an Irrigation Technician to help build out our growing irrigation division. You will work directly alongside our Irrigation Manager handling spring startups, repairs, audits, mid-season service, winterizations, and installs across residential properties and HOAs. This is a hands-on field role for someone dependable, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn and grow. We are also looking for someone willing to flex into broader landscape work as needed, so a strong attitude and a willingness to pitch is required. 2-4 years of irrigation experience is ideal, but we are open to a motivated, mechanically minded candidate with less experience for the right fit — the Irrigation Manager will train and mentor you. Our services include landscape maintenance, enhancements, lawn care, and snow management. We pride ourselves on being relentlessly reliable, continuously improving, and protecting our reputation through quality work and strong client relationships. Responsibilities Irrigation Work
  • Perform spring startups, system audits, and mid-season service
  • Diagnose and repair controllers, valves, heads, wiring, sensors, and zone/mainline issues
  • Troubleshoot and fix leaks, coverage problems, and pressure issues
  • Assist with irrigation installations, upgrades, and system expansions
  • Complete fall winterizations / blowouts
  • Help with landscape lighting and sound system repairs and installs (secondary part of the role
  • Keep accurate site notes and records of completed work
  • Flag enhancement opportunities and recommended repairs to the Irrigation Manager and account managers
  • Help maintain tools, equipment, vehicle stock, and irrigation materials Field Support / Flex Work
  • Work alongside the Irrigation Manager and crews, learning the systems and our standards
  • Assist with broader landscape operations when needed, including:
  • spring and fall cleanups
  • mulch installations
  • plantings
  • general landscape maintenance support
  • Support snow operations during winter events as needed Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of irrigation experience preferred (less considered for the right candidate)
  • Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting instincts
  • Reliable, organized, and able to manage time in the field
  • Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
  • Comfortable using mobile apps for scheduling and communication
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with common residential and commercial irrigation systems and controllers
  • Familiarity with Hydrawise, Rachio, and B-Hyve systems
  • Experience in landscape maintenance or enhancement work
  • Experience operating skid steers, compact equipment, or trenchers
