Grounds Lead Salary Grade:
Hourly 09 | H-09 Tulsa Public Schools' existing salary schedules provide career increment adjustments based on education/experience and/or years of creditable service. Position Summary:
Leads a grounds crew of one to five employees in the maintenance of district grounds, landscaping, and athletic fields across up to twenty-five (25) assigned campuses. Works alongside the crew while assigning, scheduling, and reviewing daily work, operating grounds equipment, and reinforcing safe work practices. Serves as the on-site lead at assigned campuses, working with limited direct supervision and reporting site conditions, work status, and scheduling needs to the Grounds Supervisor.
Key Functions:
Leads and works alongside a grounds crew across assigned campuses Assigns, schedules, and reviews daily grounds maintenance work Performs general grounds, landscaping, and athletic field maintenance Operates and performs routine care of mowers, trimmers, saws, and related grounds equipment Monitors job-site safety practices and reports concerns to the
Grounds Supervisor Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience:
Two (2) years of grounds, landscaping, or related maintenance experience Experience directing the daily work of others preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Oklahoma driver's license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of general grounds, landscaping, and athletic field maintenance practices Ability to operate mowers, trimmers, saws, and other grounds equipment safely Ability to organize, assign, and review the daily work of a small crew Ability to follow and enforce safety procedures and district standards Ability to communicate clearly with crew members, site staff, and supervisors Ability to work independently at assigned sites with limited direct supervision
