Company Overview Hess Creek Preserve (HCP) is 52 acres of land along Hess Creek in Newberg, Oregon. It will feature approximately 2 miles of paved and soft-surface trails throughout the preserve. The preserve is dedicated to preserving natural spaces and providing exceptional outdoor experiences for the Newberg community. Job Overview We are seeking a Park Manager to serve as the steward of the Hess Creek Preserve (HCP), providing customer service to visitors and ensuring public safety by enforcing applicable rules, regulations, and ordinances. This role promotes public awareness and safety, and protects property assets and natural resources through routine, independent patrols of the preserve. The position is a part-time position with an onsite presence in the park 4 to 5 days per week anticipated to require 12-20 hours per week. Examples of Duties Assist the Executive Director in the coordination and management of vendors under contract with HCP providing Private Security, Janitorial/Custodial Services, Landscape Maintenance, Tree removal, or facility repairs by General Contractors, Plumbers, or Electricians. Conduct routine patrols of HCP (primarily on foot) to monitor site conditions, equipment, and facilities; report maintenance and repair needs promptly to the Executive Director. Support the care and stewardship of HCP facilities, natural areas, and other assets. Monitor park conditions and identify damage to grounds. Inspect trails and facilities for safety hazards and routine maintenance needs. Ensure doors, gates, and access points are secure. Collect and dispose of litter from trails, parking areas, and open spaces. Empty trash receptacles and replace liners. Arrange for the removal of illegally dumped materials. Occasional cleanup of vegetated areas, as needed. Inspect plumbing fixtures and systems for leaks, wear, damage, or malfunction. Verify proper operation of toilets, sinks, valves, shutoffs, and water supply components. Conduct routine patrols of HCP (primarily on foot) to monitor compliance with park rules. Inform visitors of applicable rules, regulations, laws, ordinances, and municipal codes governing preserve use, including prohibitions on camping and trespassing. Provide excellent customer service by anticipating needs, resolving issues, and educating visitors about HCP's history, amenities, and art installations. Offer wayfinding and general preserve information to help ensure a safe and positive visitor experience. Maintain accurate and timely documentation such as, daily patrol logs, Incident reports, summary reports, including observed trends and recurring issues. Review security footage. Request law enforcement assistance as needed; complete required incident reports. Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of experience in parks and recreation, property management, security, or a related field; or An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to perform the duties of the position. Work Environment/Physical Demands Work in all weather conditions including wet and/or humid. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying equipment, supplies, or materials weighing more than fifty (50) pounds. Standing, sitting, bending at the waist, reaching overhead above the shoulders, or kneeling for extended periods of time. Routine walking to monitor and patrol the site 5 days per week. Wear clearly identifiable clothing provided by the HCP during all patrol activities. License, Certification and Other Requirements Valid Oregon driver's license. First Aid CPR Certification, or willingness to obtain
