This is a hands-on leadership position. The Crew Foreman will work alongside the crew while organizing daily routes, assigning responsibilities, training employees, monitoring productivity, and ensuring every property is completed safely and according to company quality standards. The ideal candidate has professional lawn-care experience, confidently operates commercial equipment, can safely drive a truck and trailer, and is prepared to take ownership of the crew, equipment, schedule, and finished work. We also have a large commercial snow operation that would be the focus of the work December through February. An ideal candidate would have snow plow and salting experience. Be comfortable working long hours and overnight as warranted by weather. Responsibilities Lead and work alongside a lawn and landscape maintenance crew during daily operations. Review daily routes, work orders, property requirements, and priorities with crew members. Assign responsibilities and keep the crew working safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Train crew members in proper mowing techniques, equipment operation, property-care standards, and safety procedures. Perform and supervise mowing, string trimming, edging, blowing, pruning, mulching, weeding, seasonal cleanups, and other landscape-maintenance services. Inspect completed properties to ensure work meets company standards and customer expectations. Safely operate zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers, power tools, and other lawn and landscape equipment. Drive a company truck and trailer between job sites and ensure equipment is loaded and secured properly. Maintain clear, consistent communication with the Operations Manager regarding daily schedules, job progress, crew performance, equipment needs, and any issues requiring attention. Conduct daily inspections of trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment. Monitor fuel, fluids, blades, tires, trailer connections, lights, and other basic maintenance items. Report damaged equipment, property damage, safety concerns, customer requests, and job-site issues promptly. Maintain accurate time records, job notes, service documentation, and material-use information as required. Communicate professionally with customers, crew members, supervisors, and other employees. Maintain clean, safe, and organized trucks, trailers, equipment, and job sites. Follow and enforce company safety policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. Assist with landscape enhancements, planting, pruning, bed preparation, mulching, and related projects as needed. Participate in snow and ice removal operations during winter weather, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary. Qualifications At least two years of professional lawn-care or landscape-maintenance experience preferred. Previous crew-leadership, foreman, or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Thorough knowledge of commercial mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, pruning, and landscape-maintenance practices. Ability to lead by example, train employees, give clear instructions, and hold crew members accountable. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required. Experience safely driving a truck while towing and backing a landscape trailer required. Ability to operate commercial lawn equipment and power tools safely and efficiently. Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to perform routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance. Strong attention to detail, time-management skills, and ability to keep a crew on schedule. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work longer hours during peak seasons. Ability to communicate professionally with customers, employees, and management. Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other changing weather conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
