Job Summary Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Golf Course Superintendent with the daily operation and maintenance of the golf course.
• Supervise, train, and motivate maintenance staff to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to established standards.
• Assist with daily scheduling and assignment of employees, including mowing, trimming, edging, bunker maintenance, landscaping, and general course upkeep.
• Perform and assist with turfgrass management practices, including mowing, fertilization, aeration, topdressing, overseeding, and pest management.
• Monitor turf conditions and assist with identifying and addressing disease, insect, weed, drainage, and irrigation issues.
• Operate and maintain golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, and specialized turf equipment.
• Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, repairs, and seasonal maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of chemical applications, fertilizer applications, irrigation, equipment maintenance, labor, and other agronomic activities.
• Assist with safe handling, storage, and application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemical products in accordance with applicable regulations and label requirements.
• Help maintain bunkers, tees, fairways, greens, roughs, practice areas, landscaping, and clubhouse surroundings.
• Assist with water management and conservation practices.
• Coordinate with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding course conditions, upcoming maintenance needs, weather conditions, and special projects.
• Assist in preparing the golf course for tournaments, outings, and special events .
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance facility and equipment areas.
• Enforce proper safety procedures and ensure employees use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies, parts, fertilizers, chemicals, fuel, and other materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or management.

Qualifications

• Previous golf course maintenance, turfgrass, landscaping, or related experience preferred.
• Degree, certificate, or coursework in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field preferred .
• Strong knowledge of golf course turfgrass maintenance and agronomic practices.
• Working knowledge of irrigation systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on golf course equipment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pesticide applicator certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred/required according to state regulations.

Working Conditions. This is a hands-on, outdoor position requiring early morning, weekend, holiday, and occasional overtime work based on course conditions, weather, tournaments, and operational needs. The position requires the ability to lift, carry, bend, stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.

Pay:

From $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
