Job Description

Purpose and Scope:
Waynesboro Landscape & Garden Center is an award-winning Landscape Architecture and Construction Company for residential, commercial, and municipal landscaping. Taking ownership of a project from the time the crew arrives until the job is complete, Landscape Foremen are responsible for ensuring our landscaping crews deliver high-quality projects to our customers. The Landscape Foreman should be able to communicate effectively via phone (primarily) and email (as needed), to provide Landscape Designers with updates on their project. Communicating effectively with landscape crews is key in successfully completing projects. The role will rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This role will report directly to a Landscape Designer or the Landscape Department General Manager, and assist on various other tasks throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead and work alongside a landscape installation crew Read and follow landscape plans and job specifications Organize daily work and keep projects on schedule Install plants, trees, mulch, soil and landscape materials Oversee hardscape and landscape construction projects Communicate professionally with customers Coordinate materials, equipment and jobsite needs Maintain a clean, organized and safe jobsite Inspect completed work for quality Train and develop crew members Communicate daily progress, problems and material needs to management Other company related duties as requested and assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
3-5 years of landscape and hardscape installation experience Previous leadership experience Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask Ability to lead while working with a crew Excellent communication skills, with customers and teammates Proficient in Microsoft Office Attention to detail, taking pride in high-quality work Dependability and organization skills for managing worksites Knowledge of Plants, Drainage Solutions and Hardscaping M-F work week with some Saturdays required Experience operating common landscape equipment
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
The Landscape Foreman role will report to a Landscape Designer or the Landscape General Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
Three to five years working with various aspects of landscape installation for residential and commercial spaces
Additional Requirements:
Valid Virginia driver's license required along with an acceptable driving record as defined by our insurer, must have/pass acceptable criminal background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform basic physical tasks normal to the landscaping industry, including but not limited to kneeling for extended periods, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, crawling, lifting at least 50 lbs. and be able to work with arms above head level at times; must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures and in adverse weather and job site conditions. Must be able to perform basic tasks consistent with an office environment including but not limited to sitting at a desk for long periods of time, bending, crouching or kneeling to access files from ground level to 4.5 feet above the ground, pushing/pulling of file drawers, reaching in all directions and working at a computer and/or telephone for prolonged periods of time. The following capabilities are required but not limited to: able to see for purposes of reading instructions, labels and other printed matter; ability to operate computer hardware and peripheral devices; able to hear and understand speech at normal levels in person and/or on the telephone; able to communicate verbally so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation in person and/or on the telephone.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
