A Landscaping or Groundskeeping Worker provides landscaping for residences, parks, public gardens, college campuses or building or office park grounds. Provides care for plants and trees including mowing, trimming and planting, and repairs driveways, walks, benches or other structures.
Available and paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate. About the Opportunity We are a staffing agency recruiting on behalf of a client providing facilities maintenance services at a Medical Center in Montgomery and Tuskegee, Alabama . The successful candidate will be assigned primarily to one campus but may be required to work at either the Montgomery or Tuskegee location based on operational needs. Responsibilities As a Groundskeeper/Gardener, you will: Clean parking lots, sidewalks, and building entrances using backpack blowers. Empty and maintain outdoor trash receptacles. Perform weed eating and vegetation control. Install pine straw and mulch. Prepare and maintain flower beds. Pick up leaves, litter, and other debris from exterior areas. Cut grass using push lawn mowers. Trim hedges and shrubs. Plant flowers and landscaping materials as needed. Safely operate hand tools and power equipment commonly used in grounds maintenance. Qualifications To be considered, applicants must have: Minimum 3 years of documented, verifiable groundskeeping or landscaping experience . A current resume detailing relevant work experience. Reliable transportation. Ability to work at either the Montgomery or Tuskegee campus when required. Ability to successfully pass a background investigation and obtain a facility identification badge before beginning work. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Frequently lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs . Stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods. Climb ladders and work at heights. Work in confined spaces. Perform outdoor work in temperatures exceeding 100°F . Work safely in noisy environments while wearing hearing protection. Wear an OSHA-approved respirator and successfully pass a respirator fit test when required. Complete OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training if not already certified (training provided by the contractor). Required Personal Protective Equipment Employees are responsible for supplying and wearing: OSHA-approved steel-toed work boots Safety glasses/eye protection Hearing protection Face mask (cloth masks are not permitted) Work Environment This position is located on a medical campus .
